Body Painting and artwork at the Healium Center

Model Kate Marie and artwork on body and wall by Miguel Dominguez
The Healium Center is a pleasant and artistic place to visit in Atlanta, Georgia to enjoy art, music, food and most of all relaxation. They feature artwork of local artists. It is a place where you can create artwork of your own. I like to visit the place for all of the above but most of all I like to photograph body painting. This blog features Miguel Dominguez who had a large display of artwork on the walls of the center at the time of my visit. You can see his artwork along with the artwork he painted on the body of model Kate Marie. Kate is also an artist but in this instance she posed as a model. She held poses like a frozen ballerina statue. I have photographed her on several other occasions. Each time see looked different. She posed in front of Miguel's artwork and also in the room of Jim Peera, the founder  and director of the Healium Center. He is an artist too. Check out the small sculptures he displayed in the room where Kate posed. It was a pleasure to photograph the features of all the artists in this review. You can follow more of the body painted artwork photography at the website E37 Photography After reading this, I hope you will visit the Healium Center soon.

BODY PAINTING AT THE HEALIUM CENTER WITH MODEL KATE MARIE AND BODYPAINTER LYNN COLE & MIGUEL D. IN ATLANTA

Photography is an art in itself but is better when the goal was to capture other artists at work. This was the case when the photographer entered the Healium Center a unique place in Atlanta where people came to relax while participating in artwork, listening to music, eating and drinking or just admiring all the visual art showcased by local artists in Atlanta. The place was a visual feast in so many ways viewing all the artwork on the walls in the different rooms. On Wednesday they had Open Session Night. Lynn Cole assisted by Miguel Domingquez painted model Kate Marie. She is a creative artist too but on this night see posed as a model depicted as a doll like clown wearing ballet shoes. She is an excellent posers. It was a special treat to see her perform again. The photographer mixed in a little video this time to bring out some of the elements of the progress of body painting which normally takes 5 hours to complete. Selena Loc HairStylist Models in the Piedmont Park Photography Project captured by E37 Photography Atlanta,Georgia

This blog shows a variety of images photographed of model Selena. She is an expert hairstylist who wore three different type of clothing with three scenes. You be the judge of what you like the best. The photography on the rocks in the background was an interesting location to photograph the subject especially since she wore black which contrasted well with the grey colored rock that looked like a stairway to the top of the hill. The pink dress worn with the trees and limb had no real greenery since it was winter time. The pink look very calm and Selena elegantly posed with the scenery. The last set of images were photographed as the sun set. Selena worn here grandmothers own dress which was very sentimental to her. I used an electronic flash to add light since the light there was no sunshine. It turn out well without the glaring burst of lights from electronic flash making the scene look artificial. We did all three shoot in a short about of time because of Selena experience posing and the assistant of her makeup artist Shontrese Henry. It was then time to pack up and leave the friendly grounds for another return visit. Where and who will it be? It is the photographer wish for the new images on the return trip to be just as exciting. Thank God for the weather to cooperate for us in the winter time.

The models below were from the collection of Gina Hadley, fashion designer. Her company is name Avantoooh. Her clothes varied in colors and designs. Princess Canty and her team designed the hairstyles that routinely seen at the Bronner Brothers hair shows. Patrice Story and Tatiana Wilson contributed to the makeup. The models were part of nine  models in her group that walked the runway at the Taste of Runway Atl which was held in the World Congress Center in the downtown area of Atlanta, Georgia. Later, you will see more of this group and others models on the runway stage. This set of models walked the runway last in the evening. You will see other groups in the next blog post from the end of the program to the beginning. The event mixed with food, fashion and entertainment.  Comedian Rodney Perry performed on stage. The host and hostess kept the audience interested between fashion breaks. The event also housed different vendors with variety of products for health and beauty, etc. The other major focus of this was the food. Some of the top chefs were in the room. The audiences were able to sample some of their delicious food while watching the performances.

MLK Jr. Holiday photography session with fashion model Crystal and E37 Photography

It was a wonderful day to photograph outside on the beautiful Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday in Tucker, Georgia outside Atlanta. E37 Photography traveled to meet Noel who is the father of Crystal a lovely model. There were other photographers on location at Arthlene Laudat Legair Designer. All the fashion designs were lovely. Some casual and others were more formal. Crystal had plenty of company with make up artists and hair people. Since the weather was so nice outside, we photographed her in the front of the store. The rest of the time we photographed in the store.
Fashion photography is so colorful it takes your breathe away each time. Crystal looked different with changes in fashion, make-up and hair styles. It was a very relaxing atmosphere. Each photographer took turns taking photographs. Her dad said that some of the images will be in publication. Who knows you might see E37 Photography in the media again. Check out the designer t-shirt Crystal wears by Arthlene Laudat LegairDesigner. www.legairbrandltd.com

Photographer captured this pose for the romantic lovers in world

Here is the black background version of Crystal in red dress

The next image was photographed the same day at the fashion store but was more complex to work. The model was posed in this long flowing gray dress but the detail conflicted with the extra clothes on the racks. The foreground and the background were too busy. The photographer decided to Photoshop out all the busy details of the clothes in the background. Since her dress was gray in color combinations. The photographer thought of grey clouds. He saved a jpeg image from Internet and added it to the background. The photographer used several selection methods in Photoshop which took time but it was worthwhile in the end. This imagine became the most popular of all images on Facebook compared to the other model look she  posed. Crystal's family liked it and the image was shared several times on Facebook. E37 Photography shared this image on Facebook along with other Internet social media places. The photographer believed it was possible. The hard work of combining the model posed in grey dress and unique grey clouds matched in perfect harmony. See this image below. The hard work did pay off with this project.

Hello Folks, Ralph Williams the photographer is back again with another sample of model Crystal at Arthlene Laudat Legair Design. She was wearing a lovely pink dress sitting on a sofa in front of clothes in the store. The focus was on her wearing the clothes not the background of clothes hanging up on the rack along with pictures, etc. Yes, pink clouds exist so they were used in the background to match her dress. Who would imagine that she would be posed in two separate cloud images~pink and gray.

Before and After results

Crystal was photographed in a retail fashion store with black and white background change from color. The photographer did this to distort the busy background of colors. The color foreground of the model is now the central focus of the image.

E37 Photography at Gywnnis Mosby Makeup Academy

On Monday, I was invited to make a photo shoot of a model in the mirrors of a makeup school. Kenjua Howard told me to photograph a female model in the mirror looking at herself and then later experiencing a meltdown. After the hair and makeup, the model Tru Stori was photographed. The next set of shoots she needed to look crying with makeup running. Gwynnis Mosby, the owner of the business, assisted in adding the extra make-up effect which ran on her face after crying. Some substance was applied to her face to make the tears run down her face smearing the makeup. It was a fun shoot. I enjoyed seeing the model in her different expression of during the agony of  the meltdown.

Body Painting in Atlanta, Ga. Photography by E37 Photography Ralph E. Williams

This is model Sammy Ro posing in an Atlanta venue called the Museum Bar. This is a rare opportunity for the photographer to photograph the body painted subjects. The painting took awhile before she showcased her work in front of guest who were in town for The Atlanta Caribbean Festival. Image was actually photographed on the floor where the blue lights glowed on the bottom of the bar. The blue color added a nice contrast to the colorful paintings on her body.

The model is Remeshia Hall. RunwayInk gave a photo shoot for the model in the upcoming event called the Women Empowerment Fashion Event in Atlanta,Ga. starting April 18, 2013  I am a photographer who volunteer for this just to meet the coordinator of the fashion show. I am going to work backward in time on my blogs explaining what you missed . I got so caught on Facebook,Twitter and I am crazy to leave my blog here standing alone. I have taken some cool images such as the one you see here. The building is under construction will be an art and wine gallery. The size of place is 3600 square feet and it was my old photography studio. I used most of the room but it never reached the potential I dreamed. It is a dream to be back in the studio. The window lights really helped my photo session which began from about 11:30-3:30pm. I was very tired in the end. I prayed to God to guide me in this endeavor and he gave me this opportunity. I think this is a confirmation for me to finish the mission. I started 10 years ago. I will feature images here until I find a new home.
