MeMoonlight The Loc Whisper...Loc Artist/Model The PiedmontParkPhotographyProject in Atlanta
Rocks. Rocks. Rocks. MeMoonlight The Loc Whisper...Loc Artist/Model stood and sat on them but she could not wear them out. She modeled in the backyard of the famous Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Not too many visitor ventured behind the park where this photographer captured the images you see here. The rock were planted to prevent erosion on the steep hill but it also provided a grand view for a photography background. The models and the different people are invited to participate in The Piedmont Park Photography Project. So far marvelous images were captured and hopefully many more will follow. Selena's black outfit and tutu made a nice contrast against the rocks. This is the second mention of this particular area of Piedmont Park

Selena Loc HairStylist Models in the Piedmont Park Photography Project captured by E37 Photography Atlanta,Georgia
This blog shows a variety of images photographed of model Selena. She is an expert hairstylist who wore three different type of clothing with three scenes. You be the judge of what you like the best. The photography on the rocks in the background was an interesting location to photograph the subject especially since she wore black which contrasted well with the grey colored rock that looked like a stairway to the top of the hill. The pink dress worn with the trees and limb had no real greenery since it was winter time. The pink look very calm and Selena elegantly posed with the scenery. The last set of images were photographed as the sun set. Selena worn here grandmothers own dress which was very sentimental to her. I used an electronic flash to add light since the light there was no sunshine. It turn out well without the glaring burst of lights from electronic flash making the scene look artificial. We did all three shoot in a short about of time because of Selena experience posing and the assistant of her makeup artist Shontrese Henry. It was then time to pack up and leave the friendly grounds for another return visit. Where and who will it be? It is the photographer wish for the new images on the return trip to be just as exciting. Thank God for the weather to cooperate for us in the winter time.

Naturals in the Park in Stone Mountain at Tupac Amaru Shakur Center of Art Center.
Have you ever heard Dr. Martin Luther King used the words Stone Mountain in his famous I Have A Dream Speech? E37 Photography traveled to this city to photograph Naturals in the Park Festival. The naturals refer to people who wear their hair without use of chemicals. Most of the attendees were afro-american females. They congregated to promote natural hair and healthy lifestyles. The setting was located at the Tupac Shakur Center. Mr. Shakur, a famous entertainer, appeared in several movies and many videos. He died early from a gun attack in a car. The park and museum building is a tribute to him. In the park, you can see a large statue of him with a pool in the front of him.Trees and pathways surround the park.
Fortunately, it did not rain but the temperature heated to the 90 degree temperatures. The heat became a frequent topic of the event but it did not deter the festival activities. The stage set up was not covered so the performer performed in the sun. As one of the photographer for the event, he made constant camera adjustments which were necessary to photograph well exposed images. The tents provided shade along with the tree shade where adjustments were necessary. The elements were completely different when photographed in the open sun. The people were patient with the photographer to make adjustment. The photographer wanted to get the correct exposure in camera versus waiting to make color adjustments in post computer work. Over 300 images were selected and sent to the event organizer and participants at the event which consist of venders, performers, festival works and attendees. Overall, the event was fun and colorful. No food sampled but the aroma was inviting. One of the favorite vendors station around the stations sold lemonade blended with fresh green basil. You can see many the clear plastic green cups. During the event, this photographer purchased one and had desire for more. The festival staff were cordial. They gave the photographer a t-shirt, media pass and bottle of cold water.
The photograph could not help but take some close up images of the hairstyles. The curly hairstyles had many different styles. Vendors sold hair product for hair and face. Many t-shirt were available. Music played throughout the event. Entertainers performed on stage singing and dancing. Most of the speakers had a good sense of humor but at times spoke on the serious side about health. Children played at a station in the rear of the park. Dance exercise classes were provide and lectures on health and hair topic were presented in different areas of the park. It was time well spent in the open air. The program started from 11am to 7pm. After the last entertainment act, the photographer packed his bag and left to begin work on the images.

Natural hair artist with locs at the Loc Livin Appreciation Day
Her name is Chiiirp. She is an artist whose work you can see in the collage. The photographer met her at the Loc Livin Appreciation in Atlanta, Georgia. She found her a spot on the concrete benches and displayed her artwork while she added temporary tattoos on hands and feet. She is also an entertainer as a rapper. She has some nice videos on YouTube. She displayed a bubbly personality while she was photographed. She is a sample of the many people who attended the event. In case you did not know locs are a twisted natural hairstyle. She spoke to the audience for a while before going back to work with waiting customers. We connected on Instagram. This was an opportunity to be around interesting and creative persons.
